Treating
Trauma with Meridian-based Psychotherapy & Counselling
Traumatic experiences, whether in the near or distant past, overload the
victims’ established coping systems. They can shake and distort the
foundations of their beliefs about safety and shatter their assumptions
of trust – in themselves, in others and in the world.
As a result, those who experience trauma may develop reactions that feel unusual and disturbing, or even ‘crazy.’ These may include intrusions, such as flashbacks or nightmares, avoidance reactions, such as reducing exposure or sensitivity to stimuli which threaten to remind them of the trauma, and hyper-arousal, such as an increased startle response and hyper-vigilance. Reactions such as these are to be expected, as normal responses to abnormal events, but if they persist, they can interfere with the ability to function and to pursue the lives survivors want for themselves. This seminar will explore a number of current theories about trauma and its consequences and will present powerfully transformative treatment techniques from the field of Energy Psychology and Meridian-based Psychotherapy & Counselling. These innovative approaches are suitable for working with clients of all ages. They integrate well with other modalities of therapy and counselling and have proven themselves through wide-scale clinical results in North and South America, Europe, and Australia. |

A T - Tapas Acupressure Technique
TAT is an elegant, process-oriented energy psychology/meridian therapy treatment approach. While simple to use, it is as thorough and deep as it is gentle and powerful. The TAT process creates space for whatever arises during the treatment steps in a respectful and attentive way, drawing it all into the process of healthy, adaptive change. Based on Taoist principles of balance and wholeness, TAT brings a sense of integration, connectedness and oneness. It transforms our relationship with reality at deep and profound levels. |
